My work with aviation began nearly a decade back when I commenced fundraising efforts for verified Veteran organizations in Australia and the US shooting mostly warbirds and pinups in WWII-themed calendars. The spark really lit for me while visiting Temora Aviation Museum in 2013 and you can catch a post about that event here. It grew from calendars to touring with warbird crews to shoot air-to-air work and eventually led me to include a major in aviation management to my degree in counterterrorism and intelligence.
Eventually my scope of aviation imagery covered general aviation, commercial, rescue, warbirds, through to hosting the military media squadron for Brisbane Riverfire imagery high above the level of the operational flight levels for that event. Details on that event and my international coverage is available here.
I’m available for static show, air to air, and technical imagery. With my work spanning risk, emergency and security management, as well as producing imagery and digital products for clients, I’m very safety conscious and have experience in briefing air to air shoots with the know how to ensure formation ratings of all involved suit the brief of the required flying, or to alter the brief to ensure it’s conformant with the formation ratings of the available pilots. As photographic coordinator for Brisbane Airshow I manage a team of a dozen photographers to cover the broad media and promotional needs of the large scale event.
I’m available for bookings with a qualified formation instructor to ensure pilots involved in air to air shoots are guided through the safest flight processes while in formation and where the instructor can become pilot in control should formation parameters call for an unscheduled break. Alternatively, we’re able to brief formation flights to ensure both aircraft in formation receive professional images during the one session.
