Bats On Bikes – our fundraising team

What do you get when you bring together an international team of an emergency manager, and an ER surgeon, spooky music, with a love for cycling and doing good? Bats on Bikes. Last September we raised funds for the Starlight Foundation’s efforts to assist with the wellbeing and mental health of children in hospitals. Our challenge was to each ride a set distance in September. For my partner Irina, it was a gruelling steep mountainous 668.5km through Europe while for me, it was a 1003.3km series of thankfully far flatter rides in the month along the Brisbane bike networks. While I raised for Starlight for three years running, this year Irina and I together beat my record and surpassed our goal. In 2022 we raised roughly $1500 for Starlight Foundation. So while this year’s seeing very little escape time for it, we’ll be back next year with another team effort for Starlight or another medical charity. We are also looking at new branding for the multinational effort.
